Florida Discount Drug Card

Florida Discount Drug CardEstablished in December 2007, the Florida Discount Drug Card can provide savings for Medicare beneficiaries who do not have prescription drug coverage or are in the Medicare prescription drug plan coverage “gap.”  There is no enrollment fee and the card can be used at all participating pharmacies.  For consumers 60 and older, there is no income limit. Potential savings range from 5% to 42% on virtually all brand and generic drugs

Upcoming Enrollment Events - Brevard and Osceola County Areas
SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) will be sponsoring two enrollment events for the Florida Discount Drug Card:

  • Tuesday, July 15, 2008 from 10 am to 12 noon at the Barney Veal Center, 700 Generation Point in Kissimmee, FL in Osceola County
  • Thursday, July 17, 2008 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm atmedical profesionnal Martin Anderson Senior Center, 1025 Florida Avenue in Rockledge, FL in Brevard County.

A brief presentation on the Florida Discount Drug Card will begin each event followed by an opportunity to enroll in the program. SHINE volunteer counselors will be available to answer your questions and provide information on additional pharmaceutical assistance programs.
